Sweden’s Gröna Lund is ready for expansion

On June 30, 2022 The Land and Environmental Court of Appeal in Stockholm, Sweden approved the detailed plan for Gröna Lund‘s parking, which means that the six-year legal process is now over and Gröna Lund can finally start planning the construction of a new amusement park in the adjacent parking lot.

“I am very relieved and happy with today’s message. Now we can finally realize the dream of a combined amusement park on both sides of Allmänna Gränd. It is a historic day for both Gröna Lund and Stockholm,” says Johan Tidstrand, owner of Gröna Lund after the announcement was made.

“It is a long-awaited and well-established project that is now entering the next phase. We must carefully manage the trust that the court has shown us. The new amusement park area with surrounding zoo quarters can be completely clear in 4-5 years,” says Christer Fogelmarck, CEO of Parks and Resorts.
