The Summit, held at the Disneyland Hotel among 400 Southern California business and nonprofit leaders, honored 10 local brands based in, or commonly associated with, Orange County for their exemplary public trust and social entrepreneurialism following a six-month survey and peer review. The finalists for the 2012 Most Trustworthy Brands: Orange County Edition ™ include the Anaheim Ducks, Automobile Club of Southern California, Black & Decker, Goodwill of Orange County, Kaiser Permanente, Oakley, South Coast Plaza, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, Whole Foods, and Discovery Science Center.
According to survey respondents, DSC’s trust strengths are in sincerity, loyalty and connection, with its top mark in the area of advocacy, saying they would recommend this organization to others. Discovery Science Center President Joe Adams says the results speak to the organization’s core principles. “Since our opening in 1998, we have been dedicated to the organization’s core principles in providing exceptional guest service, while delivering high-quality educational exhibits and family entertainment,” says Adams. “We are so proud and honored to be mentioned as one of the Most Trustworthy Brands in Orange County, because it shows the relationship and trust we have built with the 470,000 visitors we see each year.”
2012 Most Trusted Brands: Orange County Edition used a proprietary online survey measuring trust through 25 trust dimensions in five “macro” values categories of ability, consistency, identification, sincerity and concern to create a short list of brands to spotlight for the year.
