Disney Legend Marty Sklar to Give Inventive Genius Lecture at MSI Chicago

In an Inventive Genius Lecture on February 16, Disney Legend and Imagineering Ambassador Marty Sklar presents a fascinating half-century journey creating the magic of Disney’s theme parks in his new book, Dream It! Do It!

Marty will share the extraordinary legacy of his 54-year Disney career, where he led the creative development of EPCOT Center, Tokyo Disneyland, the Disney-MGM Studios, Disneyland Paris, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (among others) as Executive Vice President and President of Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative heart of the Disney Parks and Resorts organization. From his early years ghost-writing personal materials for Walt Disney, to his lead creative role in conceiving and designing the Disney Parks, Marty has been at the center of virtually every major Disney Park initiative around the world for over 50 years until his retirement in 2009, on Disneyland’s 54th birthday. Former Disneyland International Chairman Jim Cora said of Marty: “He understands the Disney way because he learned at Walt’s knee. Marty is the keeper of the keys, the conscience, the ‘Jiminy Cricket’ of the Disney organization.” Join us as Marty discusses his new book, Dream It! Do It! A signing will follow this event. Books will be available for purchase.
