EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Manager of Exhibition Production, Obama Foundation

The Obama Foundation is guided by a core belief: that ordinary people working together can change history. Our mission is to inspire those people to take action, empower them to change their world for the better, and connect them so they can achieve more together than they can alone.

The Obama Foundation was founded by community organizers, so when it seeks change, it does it by bringing people together.

That approach begins at home, on the South Side of Chicago, where the Obama Foundation is building the Obama Presidential Center. The Center represents a historic opportunity for Chicago: a chance to build a world-class museum and public gathering space that celebrates our nation’s first African American President and First Lady, steps away from where he began his career, where she was raised, and where—together—they made their home.

The Manager of Exhibition Production will join the team planning and building the Obama Presidential Center (OPC). Working as a member of the Museum Team and reporting to the Director of Planning and Design, the Manager of Exhibition Production will ensure that all exhibitions and interpretive elements are produced at a high level of quality, on-time, and on-budget. To meet experiential and operational goals, the Manager of Exhibition Production will work closely with Obama Foundation staff as well as external project management, architecture, exhibition design, exhibition fabrication, inclusive design, and construction teams.

After the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, the Manager of Exhibition Production will play a leading role in the development of temporary exhibitions, as well as manage exhibition operations and maintenance for the inaugural exhibitions and other interpretive elements across the campus.
