Nintendo brings Animal Crossing to Seattle Aquarium to inspire marine conservation

In partnership with Nintendo of America, some of the favorite characters from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game on the Nintendo Switch system are embarking on a new adventure at the Seattle Aquarium this fall.

Beginning October 7th, guests can enjoy characters from the video game while learning about the Aquarium’s mission: Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment. Come face-to-face with marine animals such as sea otters, harbor seals, octopus, hundreds of species of fish and more. This is the first time an aquarium experience like this is available in North America. The exhibit will include several exciting features available for both members and the public, including:

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons photo opportunity, featuring an aquarium themed background with characters from the game.
  • Themed creature descriptions presented by Blathers with information directly from the game.
  • Standees of familiar characters from the game throughout the Aquarium near a wide variety of habitats.
  • A bingo scavenger hunt, available via smart device to ensure guests don’t miss any of the fun.

Ahead of this exhibit launching for the general public, the Seattle Aquarium is giving members an early look at the excitement on opening weekend. Doors for early admission for members only will open at 9am P.T. on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th. The Aquarium is open to all guests daily from 9:30am – 6pm P. T. You can buy tickets online at SeattleAquarium.org.

The Aquarium’s partnership with Nintendo of America runs through December 31st, with additional themed activities coming soon.
