Ocean Park Hong Kong names new CEO

The Board of Ocean Park Corporation today announced the appointment of Ivan Wong Chi-fai as the Corporation’s new Chief Executive effective Sept. 1, 2021, succeeding current Chief Executive Joe Wong Chi-cho who was seconded from the Government. He will arrive at the Park as Chief Executive Designate on Aug. 16, 2021, to start the leadership transition.

Wong Chi-fai has business re-engineering, marketing and digital expertise across the entertainment, telecommunication, information technology, media, and food and beverage sectors. He was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Lark International Group, where he oversaw the group’s portfolios in Greater China.

Lau Ming-wai, Chairman of Ocean Park Corporation, said, “I am excited to welcome Ivan to the management team. His market-driven mindset and remarkable business experience from product development to business re-engineering make him well suited for the role. Ivan will work closely with me and the Board to lead the transformation of the Park under the new strategy.”

“On behalf of the Board, I thank Joe for his service to the Park during its transition period,” stated Ming-wai. “He plays a key role in the preparation of the outsourcing arrangement under the Park’s future strategy.”

Ivan is a graduate of the Trinity College of University of Toronto, and has received executive training from INSEAD and Harvard Business School. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom and the Chairperson of Hong Kong Institute of Marketing. He is an award-winning marketer and was named Outstanding Marketing Professional at the HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence in 2009.
