Sesame Place San Diego is kicking off its inaugural Mardi Gras celebration beginning Friday, February 14 to Sunday, March 9 on select dates. This vibrant, family-friendly event invites guests to join in the fun with Sesame Street-themed interactive activities, carnival colors, and special performances.
Highlights of the Mardi Gras celebration include the Sesame Street Mardi Gras Cavalcade, a Mardi Gras Mask Scavenger Hunt, and a Mardi Gras themed Dine with Elmo and Friends.
For a limited time, kids ages three- to nine-years-old can go free to the park with a paid adult ticket.
Mardi Gras entertainment includes:
- Mardi Gras Mask Scavenger Hunt – Pick up a complimentary Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt Map at Scavenger Hunt Headquarters and go on a special Mardi Gras themed search throughout the park. Once completed, turn the sheet in at Scavenger Hunt Headquarters to receive a special Mardi Gras prize.
- Sesame Street Mardi Gras Cavalcade – This colorful, musical cavalcade celebrates carnival time with festively decorated floats and Sesame Street friends dressed up and ready to shine. It’s a cavalcade full of lively tunes, fancy dancing, and plenty of family fun. The floats are decked out for Mardi Gras with colors of purple, gold, and green and some of the sparkliest things ever seen.
- Photos with Sesame Street Friends – Make memories and get a photo with furry friends in their Mardi Gras attire around the park.
- Dine with Elmo & Friends – Join Elmo and more Sesame Street friends for a special Mardi Gras celebration. Enjoy a delicious buffet meal while jamming out to traditional New Orleans music and march in a mini Mardi Gras Parade.
