Tippett Studio promotes two key figures in company’s themed entertainment sector

Tippett Studio, founded by two-time Academy Award winning artist, animator and filmmaker Phil Tippett, has announced that current VP Creative Marketing for the studio Corey Rosen has been promoted to Executive Vice President Creative Development. Additionally, June Wang has been promoted to Director of Global Client Services. Both will handle clients in the theme park entertainment sector for the studio.

Rosen’s responsibilities include oversight and management of development for original content, including film, TV, commercials, Mixed-Reality, Mobile and Location-Based content. In his new position, Rosen will oversee a team of theme park industry veterans in the development of an original slate of content. Previously, he helped expand Tippett Studio into theme park entertainment in 2012 with Dream of Anhui, a 6-minute photorealistic flying theater attraction installed in Wanda Movie Park, Hefei, Anhui, China. The project was nominated for a VES Award for “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project” (2017). Rosen has written the pitches, storylines and screenplays for six rides (three that are open and three that are in production) which also include Fly over Sichuan (2021) and Fly over Chungqing (2021).

Rosen began his career at Industrial Light & Magic as a visual effects artist and screenwriter for 12 years, before moving to The Orphanage, heading their creature department and serving as visual effects supervisor on commercials. He joined Tippett Studio in 2011 taking the lead on the creative management of its marketing. He has also written for Comedy Central, Jim Henson Productions and Lucasfilm Animation, including teleplays, screenplays and non-fiction. He is the host of an ongoing live storytelling series, “The Moth.” His first book, “Your Story, Well Told” was published by Mango Publishing in March 2021.

As the new Director of Global Client Services at Tippett Studio, Wang will utilize her marketing and business development experiences in China to explore storytelling opportunities beyond borders.

Starting as an interpreter and production coordinator at Tippett Studio, she followed through several multi-million media production projects for Chinese theme parks from start to finish and has focused on working with creative teams that bring imagination to life. Her recent projects for Tipett Studio includes 2022’s Havoc in Heaven and 2021’s Fly over Sichuan. Prior to Tippett, Wang worked in Beijing, China, in sales and real estate development.

Said CEO Sanjay Das, “June Wang has been our secret weapon for years. Our development and expansion on the international scene has been largely based on her talents for clear, precise communication and client management. Corey Rosen has been Tippett Studio’s front man for years. His talents as a screenwriter and storyteller makes him a perfect fit for this new role as we develop original content for all media.”

“Tippett Studio has a rich history of both client-services as well as original content — including Phil Tippett’s own groundbreaking and award-winning films. I look forward to leveraging our decades of experience in both hands-on filmmaking as well as cutting edge computer graphics to be a story-first company, where the technology assists in telling stories the best way,” said Rosen.
